Survival Food Scam

A must-read. If you're a Jones listener or Infowars reader, you've heard/seen these ads, and you may have read the Infowars article about FEMA stockpiling meals from this supplier:

The Great Post Office Conspiracy

I'm going to be blunt: This is one of the stupidest things I have ever heard on The Alex Jones Show. It's speculative to the point of absurdity, needlessly alarmist, and inaccurate in its few concrete details. I'm not even going to w.a.s.t.e. much time on it.

In brief, Steve Quayle claims a military source told him the U.S. Postal Service has constructed "secret rooms" in 130 post offices. They're called Criminal Investigative Units, and are presumably intended for use by the Postal Inspection Service, which deals with everything from benefits fraud to bioterrorism-by-mail. But Quayle assumes the rooms are really part of a martial law plan that also includes "indoctrinated multicultural post office workers" (whatever that means).

The Prison Planet article on this vast conspiracy points out a website about the new Macon, Georgia, post office that actually mentions the Criminal Investigative Unit rooms - so there goes the idea that they're "secret".

I don't know just why these rooms are being constructed, but I don't think Steve Quayle does, either. For years, his main area of study has been "giants in the bible" - quite a leap from shadow government intel, don't you think? And his track record of providing reliable information is sad:

  • In January of last year, a high-ranking officer who works on "deep psychological operations" for NORTHCOM told Quayle that the Department of Defense is spending money to develop new multi-user online games like World of Warcraft. Jones: "The military is using the XBox as the platform to fly predator drones, and they want to hire the top-scoring teenagers." This claim was apparently based on this article, and other reports that the Autonomous Rotorcraft Sniper System (basically .338-caliber rifles mounted beneath Vigilante drone helicopters) uses a modified Xbox 360 game controller for targeting. There have been no indications that the military actually wants to use gamers as "pilots". I mean, c'mon, WoW players flying drones from their mom's basements? Srsly? (Jan. 8/09 broadcast)
  • The same source told Quayle that on October 7, 2008 the U.S. was just minutes from martial law because "China demanded 3.1 trillion Ameros, which the Bush regime gave to them, or they would basically cancel and crash our currency." Considering that the Amero doesn't actually exist, this is kinda unlikely. Are we really expected to believe the Treasury would issue secret currency for two years, without any of it getting into circulation? Jones: "They announced a month ago in The New York Times that the Federal Reserve is issuing something above treasury notes itself [sic] that is collateralized by North American assets. So that's your Amero." No, that's a Treasury bond. And the Times doesn't buy into the Amero rumours, as this 2007 article shows.
  • H1N1 and its vaccine were "execution by injection", a form of "esoteric murder, ritual Satanic deliverance of the innocents to death", timed to occur with the "occult day, Cinco de Mayo". Not only is Cinco de Mayo unaffiliated with any sort of occult tradition, it's not even a religious holiday. Celebrants commemorate the 1862 Mexican victory against the French in the Battle of Puebla. They do extremely sinister, occulty-type things like drink beer, dance, and play air guitar. (April 28/09 broadcast)
  • When Quayle interviewed Sam Cohen, the inventor of the neutron bomb, Cohen allegedly told him off-air that red mercury is real. Quayle surmises the U.S. gave some of it to China and/or Iraq. Perhaps they sold China some Imipolex-G, too. (interview)

The Great Swine Flu Plot of '09 & The Great Tea Partier Frameup of 2010

Man, the New World Order sure likes to take its sweet time...

Now that it's just about summer of 2010, let's check in on the progress of the New World Order's Great Swine Flu Plot of '09. Because, as devoted fans of Jones are continuously telling me, Jones is mostly right about everything. Or as Jones himself has put it, "Everything I say comes true!".

Well, there's not much point in going through the whole Swine Flu Plot checklist, because it's all dependent on the first item on the list: Forced inoculation with the H1N1 vaccine. This was supposed to result in rioting, which would result in martial law. Also, H1N1 hysteria would be used as a smokescreen for the passage of the Cyberbullying Act, the Clean Water Restoration Act, and more bank bailouts. Aside from that last thing, nothing on the list has happened. At all. In fact, throughout the U.S. and Canada there were shortages of H1N1 vaccine in '09 - people had to wait in line for hours, if they were eligible to receive the shot at all (most people weren't). Now that the pandemic hysteria has calmed considerably, clinics throughout Canada and the U.S. are stuck with surplus vaccine that will eventually have to be thrown out. At no time was forced inoculation of the general population seriously proposed by anyone in a position of authority, so the prediction didn't make much sense in the first place.

Next was The Great Tea Partier Frameup of 2010. Beginning in February, Jones declared that the government would probably carry out false flag terror attacks within the U.S. - most likely against the IRS - and blame it on Tea Party protesters, Patriots, militia members, etc. This was to happen anytime from mid-April to the end of May. "They're gonna blow stuff up and blame it on you, blame it on me!" Jones said on his April 19th broadcast.

Still waiting. The rather pathetic New York City bombing attempt was a perfect opportunity to pin something on Tea Partiers, Patriots, or other "homegrown" groups, yet no serious efforts were made to do that. A few minor media pundits feebly suggested "what if this is domestic?", but from the git-go, the mainstream media's prime suspects were Arab Muslims, American Muslims of Arab extraction, and American Muslims. Notice a theme? Then a suspect was hauled in: An American Muslim of Arab extraction.

Well, maybe he was a white, Tea Partying Christian in his spare time.

Seriously, though, there are those who insist that the Great Tea Partier Frameup plans had to be shelved because Jones drew too much attention to them (why the New World Order baddies would actually care about what a mere million or so radio show listeners believe isn't entirely clear). Maybe this is so. But prove it. It's incredibly easy to make a bogus prediction, then say it didn't come to pass because public awareness, or prayer, or telepathic happy thoughts, or whatever, prevented it from happening. False religious prophets do this all the time. The Heaven's Gate dude, Marshall Applewhite, first predicted the spaceship would arrive for his followers in the mid-'70s. When it didn't, they were smart enough to look elsewhere for spiritual guidance. Less than two decades later, however, Applewhite had a whole new batch of dupes who heard the same story - and believed it enough to castrate and off themselves.

That's not to say that Jones is a "false prophet". Chances are, he genuinely believes that these Crises of Epic Proportions are really going to happen, and honestly thinks he and his listeners are staving them off by spreading the word. But believing something doesn't make it so, does it?

The sky is falling again: The Great Tea Partier Frameup of 2010

"They're gonna blow stuff up and blame it on you, blame it on me."

"This is a red alert. RED alert. RED alert. RED alert. RED alert."

"We might be able to back them off, but right now I think they're committed to this." - Alex Jones (April 19/2010 broadcast)

One thing I hope to show you on this blog, over time, is that Alex Jones lurches from crisis to crisis like a drunk trying to navigate his way home by grasping random streetlight poles in the dark, never glancing back at the ones he's left behind. Once a crisis has passed - often without any major repercussions - he moves on and only rarely mentions it, except to retrofit some of its details to make it appear that he was "right all along".

For over two months now, Jones has been warning that mid-April to the end of the month could be the elite's window of opportunity to stage massive false flag attacks within the U.S., scapegoating Tea Partiers and tax protestors. These attacks will probably include nuclear bombs in U.S. cities and the bombing of IRS offices, he has warned. The attacks will be designed not just to discredit critics of the current administration, but to bring in brutal repression of free speech in general. According to Jones, they're already trying to set up Tea Partiers by seeding fake racists with offensive protest signs into public demonstrations (apparently Jones believes, or wants to believe, there are no racist conservatives in America).
Jones says Rush Limbaugh and Michael Savage are now saying similar things about imminent false-flag attacks.

He wants all his listeners to spread the false flag operation warning via websites, blogs, videos, etc.

Now is a good time to review The Great Swine Flu Plot of '09. This was Jones's last Major Crisis of Epic Proportions. Here's the rough chronology he laid out for this gargantuan step forward in the NWO takeover of America, which I also evaluated in December:

1. In the fall of '09, "fake" H1N1 hysteria was going to be used to usher in additional bank bailouts, the Clean Water Restoration Act ("federal takeover of all private property"), carbon taxation, and hate crime legislation. Then forced inoculation with the H1N1 vaccine would be instituted nationwide.

When only a few of these things came to pass (bailouts and the passage of The Mathew Shepherd Act), Jones tried to convince us that popular opposition to forced inoculation prevented it from happening. What he never mentioned is that forced H1N1 inoculation couldn't have happened, anyway, because there were never enough doses for everyone.

He has stopped talking about the Clean Water Restoration Act because it is still languishing in the Senate - clearly, it was not part of the Great Swine Flu Plot.

2. The announcement of forced inoculation would result in riots and demonstrations throughout the U.S., giving federal authorities the perfect excuse to declare and maintain nationwide martial law.

Did not happen. Will not happen. Wasn't going to happen. Jones was so far off the mark here that I'm amazed so many people still find him credible. As I mentioned, there were never enough doses to vaccinate everyone in the U.S., forced vaccination was never on the agenda, and a pandemic lockdown did not occur. What Jones and company fail to understand is that martial law is not a desirable thing for any U.S. administration. The risks and the massive outlay of money and resources vastly outweigh any benefits.

The next three sets of events in the Great Swine Flu Plot are still on the "wait and see" side of the equation, but given that hardly anything in the first two steps actually occurred at all and had an astonishingly slim chance of ever occurring, what do you think the odds are that they'll come to pass?

Remember: According to Jones, these things should have begun taking place last fall at the earliest, the end of 2009 at the latest. Yet bank bailouts were the only thing that inarguably occurred.

3. Under the direction of Obama's science czar, John Holdren, sterilizing agents will be placed in municipal water supplies.

4. Dissidents will be rounded up and placed in FEMA concentration camps. The Constitution will cease to exist, and the U.S. basically becomes a wholly-owned subsidiary of the UN/New World Order apparatus.

5.The real mass murder begins. 80-99% of the world's surviving population will be eliminated via tainted vaccines, execution, forced abortions, and involuntary sterilization.

How is the Great Swine Flu Plot of '09 coming along?

Over the summer, Jones laid out the steps that the elite scumlords will take to strike a death blow to the U.S. Constitution, kill most of us, and institute global government. I call this the Great Swine Flu Plot of '09, because Jones has said H1N1 and H1N1 vaccination is a central plank in the evil plan. Jones also said the initial stages of the plan would be instituted in the autumn. Now that it's December, let's take a look at how many of the steps in the plot have been carried out:

Step 1: In the fall of '09, Swine Flu hysteria will serve as a distraction while the government sneaks in more bank bailouts, carbon taxation, the Clean Water Restoration Act, and the passage of hate crime legislation. Then forced inoculation will be introduced.

Bank bailouts? Check. There have been several of those. But I wouldn't say that H1N1 distracted anyone from them.
The Clean Water Restoration Act? No. Languishing in the Senate.
Carbon taxation? No. Jones insists they will be levied immediately upon U.S. ratification of the Copenhagen treaty, so time will tell.
Hate crime legislation? Half a check. The Matthew Shepard Act was signed into law in October, It's mostly an update of 30-year-old legislation, so it's hardly anything to freak out over. It does not in any way limit hate speech. The Cyberbullying Act, which is more problematic because its wording isn't as tight as the Shepard Act, is languishing in the House.
Forced inoculation? No.

So we have a check and a half for the 4 items in Step 1. That's a 36% success rate. Slightly better than Sylvia Browne's track record, but still dismal.

Step 2: Forced inoculation will result in riots all over the U.S., because people are too smart to take the shots voluntarily. The vaccine will not protect against Swine Flu; in fact, it was probably an experimental vaccine that was used to start the outbreaks in the first place.

Still no forced inoculation yet, even though October poll results indicated 60% of adult Americans were not planning to be inoculated.

Step 3: The rioting will give "Obama's thugs" (NORTHCOM and civilian service orgs like Americorps) the perfect excuse to institute and maintain nationwide martial law. Everything will be federalized.

No martial law. If the bailouts count as "federalization" (and Jones, Glenn Beck et. al. would argue that they do), then that would be the only major example thus far.

Step 4: Under the direction of Obama's science czar, John Holdren, sterilizing agents will be placed in municipal water supplies.

No, but Jones now insists that 150 chemicals found in municipal water supplies are "known to sterilize mammals" and were placed there deliberately. (today's broadcast)

Step 5:
Dissidents will be rounded up and placed in FEMA concentration camps. The Constitution will cease to exist, and the U.S. will basically become a wholly-owned subsidiary of the UN.

No.

Step 6:
The real mass murder begins. 80-99% of the world's population will be eliminated via tainted vaccines, execution, forced abortions, and involuntary sterilization.

No. Again, time will tell. Considering Jones' batting average so far, I'm not holding my breath. I still haven't seen any sign of Obama's "Muslim/Black Identity/Nation of Islam terrorism and persecution of whites", which Jones predicted during his November '08 interview of Ron Paul.

The Great Swine Flu Plot of '09

Though Swine Flu has killed more people than all the vaccines Jones despises put together, he's convinced that the flu is relatively harmless. Maybe it is. I'll give him that. But that's where our opinions on the matter diverge, but Jones posits the existence of what is basically a United Nations takeover plot of America. Here's roughly how it will play out, according to Jones:

Step 1: In the fall, Swine Flu hysteria will serve as a distraction while the government sneaks in more bank bailouts, carbon taxation, the Clean Water Restoration Act, and the passage of hate crime legislation. Then forced inoculation will be introduced.
Step 2: Forced inoculation will result in riots all over the U.S., because people are too smart to take the shots voluntarily. The vaccine will not protect against Swine Flu; in fact, it was probably an experimental vaccine that was used to start the outbreaks in the first place.
Step 3: The rioting will give "Obama's thugs" (NORTHCOM and civilian service orgs like Americorps) the perfect excuse to institute and maintain nationwide martial law. Everything will be federalized.
Step 4: Under the direction of Obama's science czar, John Holdren, sterilizing agents will be placed in municipal water supplies.
Step 5: Dissidents will be rounded up and placed in FEMA concentration camps. The Constitution will cease to exist, and the U.S. will basically become a wholly-owned subsidiary of the UN.
Step 6: The real mass murder begins. 80-99% of the world's population will be eliminated via tainted vaccines, execution, forced abortions, and involuntary sterilization.

The Great Swine Flu Plot model Jones has crafted relies on the very shaky presumption
that any pandemic preparedness on the part of any government agency is bad, m'kay? This includes any cemetery preparedness. We should just let people die and rot where they drop, I guess.
Let's look at the other evidence Jones has amassed in support of his model, some of it supplied by guests:

Jones claims he predicted the flu pandemic on March 5th, after noticing that mass graves were being prepared at the National Memorial Cemetery in Pheonix and Houston National Cemetery. He has also noted that the New York Division of Cemeteries sent "Mass Fatality Forms" to cemeteries to collect data on their ability to deal with casualties of a flu pandemic or other disaster. However, this survey was conducted in 2007, and was spurred by concerns about an Avian Flu pandemic.
Kurt Nimmo of Infowars found it sinister that in Exeter, England, there are emergency plans to inter flu victims in old catacombs. Again, this was discussed as early as 2006, in relation to Avian Flu. The catacombs were orginally built for just such epidemics, by the way. Modern Englishmen aren't the only ones with the foresight to prepare for the worst...

There's nothing amazing about Jones "predicting" the pandemic in March, because pandemic concerns were being aired as early as January.

There's another problem with Jones' claim that he predicted Swine Flu. Quote: "Two months before 9/11 I said, 'The government's gonna blow up the World Trade Center and blame its asset, bin Laden.' I saw the preparation right out in the open!"
If you listen to the prediction made on July 25, 2001, you'll hear for yourself that he wasn't this specific. He did mention bin Laden, but he did not provide a timeframe, a target, or a means of attack. When he mentioned explosives, he was referring to the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and the Oklahoma City bombing. When he mentioned the World Trade Center, he was again referring to the '93 bombing.
And unless you're a Truther, you know that the World Trade Center was not blown up on 9/11.

There are more problems with the prediction. As critics of Jones have pointed out, conspiranoid broadcaster William Cooper gave an identical warning (mentioning bin Laden but not a specific target) a full month before Jones. You can hear Cooper's prediction 1:27 into this video.

Also, when he appeared on CNN to discuss Charlie Sheen's Trutheriness, Jones declared he "had intelligence" that the 9/11 attacks were going to occur, and that he was first person to expose 9/11. So which is it? Did he figure out that 9/11 was going to happen because he saw preparations "out in the open", or did he receive intel about it? And why does he claim to be the first person to expose the plot, when he probably knew (or at least knows by now) that he was not?

Forgive me, but I'm not placing much stock in Jones' predictive powers. He has said, "Everything I say comes true," but that doesn't seem to be the case at all. The vast majority of things he says don't come true.

On the show, F. William Engdahl claimed the H1N1 virus has not yet been isolated and examined. Paradoxically, guests Rima Laibow (a doctor specializing in nutrition and alien abduction, wife of Remote Viewing champion Albert Stubblebine) and Wayne Madsen said the virus shows signs of genetic engineering. Yet all three of them are incorrect. The virus has been examined, and is indistinguishable from naturally occurring flu viruses.

A year before the Swine Flu (H1N1) outbreak, Baxter International and other pharmaceutical companies applied for a patent for the same RNA sequence found in H1N1, proving Swine Flu was genetically engineered by the same people who are supposedly trying to prevent its spread. I can't find any evidence that an H1N1 RNA sequence patent was given to Baxter nor any other company [note: the patent has apparently been found, and it's not even close to what Jones described; you can find the details in this thread at the JREF forum]. But this sounds an awful lot like the work of A. True Ott, a "doctor" who has dipped his toe into many conspiracy pools (including Mormon Satanism and the profoundly retarded theory that digital converter boxes are rigged to spy on Americans). Ott believes that a 2005 flu vaccine patent granted to Novartis was actually for H1N1, a "reverse engineered" and patented virus created at Ft. Detrick (using the next generation of PROMIS software). Ott explains everything in this "scholarly" paper full of ALL CAPS.

Kurt Nimmo's Prison Planet story "Flu Pandemic Hype Another Pretext for Global Government" (Apr. 27/09) states that under the 2005 International Partnership on Avian and Pandemic Flu adopted by the UN General Assembly, the U.S. will be controlled by the WHO, the WTO, the UN, and NAFTA during a pandemic.
But a similar article by Nimmo posted at Infowars on July 27th mentions only FEMA, Homeland Security, and the military. WTF?

FEMA's NLE 09 exercise, conducted last month, was possibly a pandemic/martial law drill.
It was a terrorism response drill. If you want to pretend it was something else, fine. Whatever.

A secret State of Texas memo leaked to Jones by an Austin city official states that "global martial law" will be instituted in the event of a pandemic.
Until we get more information or see the actual document, this tidbit is basically worthless. What on earth is "global martial law" supposed to be? Who would enforce it, and how?

In his April 9/09 broadcast, Jones mentioned that the defunct Rocky Mountain News ran a story about a huge incinerator for human remains and mass graves being set up in the U.S. He didn't mention that he's been telling this story for five years. Nor did he mention that the incinerator is the Grand Junction incinerator set up by the University of Colorado to dispose of the heads of deer and elk with Mad Cow and wasting disease. It probably cannot be used as a crematorium for human remains during an epidemic; some question whether it's even effective against BSE and wasting disease.
The "mass graves" are a reference to the cemetery survey conducted in 2007.

Professor Eric Pianka said They want to use engineered Ebola to wipe out a large percentage of the population. Professor Pianka said he wanted to see naturally occurring Ebola wipe out a large percentage of the population. He didn't say it should be initiated by anyone. He was just expressing the commonly-held belief that the planet is ruinously overpopulated. While I don't wholly agree with his view, I see no reason to characterize Pianka as some sort of mad scientist training our young people to go out and kill - as Jones does. He points out that some of Pianka's former students work in bioweapons labs. Well, of course some of them do. They were biology students. Doy. Out of every batch of biology students leaving a major university, a few will go to the "dark side". And they wouldn't be getting their training from Pianka, anyway, because he's a herpetologist.

The UN Biological Diversity Assessment for 1996 stated the UN would use engineered flu virus to kill us. The UN's Biological Diversity Assessment, a global study involving 1500 scientists, was kind of a census of life on Earth. Its report, released in November 1995, placed the number of different species at around 13 million and noted that species are going extinct at a troubling rate. Though the report encouraged nations to preserve biodiversity to the greatest extent possible, there was nothing in it AT ALL about reducing the human population. Anyway, the U.S. has been notoriously uncooperative with global efforts to preserve biodiversity. Just one year before the UN report was issued, for instance, the Senate refused to ratify the Convention on Biodiversity treaty.

Jones isn't the only one propagating the Great Swine Flu Plot of '09. Catherine Austin Fitts states that in her opinion, the Swine Flu vaccine is part of a depopulation plot. A. True Ott concurs, as does Rebecca "Ghandi with Breasts" Carley. In fact, Dr. Deagle. Carley, and Ott have formed a team to oppose mandatory Swine Flu vaccination - not with good solid facts about the actual risks, but with conspiracy theories about a global depopulation agenda.

Where's the Harm?

People have asked me, "What's so bad about Alex Jones? Sure, he's a bit of a drama queen sometimes, but it's harmless stuff. Why don't you just ignore it?"
For the most part, Jones' propaganda is harmless.

But then you have Jones fans like this guy. He's seriously preparing to go to ground, convinced that Luciferian New World Order chaos is about to crash down on the U.S.
He thinks the banker-controlled elites are about to cut off the food and water supplies, slaughter citizens who resist total control, and confiscate most private property. So he's hunkering down in an undisclosed location with a huge supply of guns, firewood, and water.

He is a devoted disciple of the late William Cooper (a UFO "whistleblower" who branched out into NWO theories), Alex Jones, Lindsey Wiliams, etc.
He believes in an indiscriminate worldwide depopulation program (even though there is no indication that such a program is underway), the "poisoning" of our food and water with things like fluoride, the Luciferian agenda of the UN, and imminent martial law in the U.S.

There is a lot of harm in subjecting people to this level of hysteria, most of it based on flimsy conspiracy theories, bizarre misinterpretations of historical events, and "Satanic panic". I know that Jones et.al. think they're doing the right thing, but that doesn't mean it's the right thing to do.
The saddest thing is, once people reach this advanced stage of dread and paranoia, there's probably no going back.

The other major hazard posed by Jones and company is that devoted listeners will ignore real problems (international terrorism, global warming, nuclear power, etc.) because they're so preoccupied with non-problems like artificial sweeteners and MSG, FEMA concentration camps, or Satanic ritual sacrifices. And because Jones tells them the real problems are only blinds crafted by the elite.

Obama's Youth Brigades

As you may know, Jones had another one of his signature tantrum/breakdowns during Tuesday's broadcast (available on YouTube; the breakdown begins in the last 2 minutes or so of Part II). He had the presence of mind to know that he was freaking out, because he screamed at the people who will be making fun of him for freaking out. I'm not making fun of his fury. Frankly, I'm growing bored with his tantrums; every rant is like being on a plane with a teething baby for hours.

Jones was/is enraged by H.R. 1388, the GIVE Act, as are most rightist commentators. See, for example, Michelle Malkin's take. I'm no fan of Malkin, but I have to admit she's reached a few relatively sensible conclusions about the act. Alex Jones could benefit by paying attention to her this time, instead of screaming at her like a deranged street preacher.

Jones has been raging against "Obama's Youth Brigades" and "Obama's Hitler Youth" since before the election, knowing that Obama planned all along to juice up AmeriCorps, the Peace Corps, and other service orgs.

I don't particularly like some aspects of the GIVE Act (see notes at the end of this post), but as usual Jones takes a molehill and turns it into the freaking Matterhorn. He claims the whole thing is patterned after the East German Stasi, calling it the "slavery act" and the "worst, most virulent strain of tyranny" the U.S. has ever witnessed. He actually urged listeners who were in their cars to stop other motorists and tell them to tune in to the show.

I'm not going to dissect the entire GIVE Act. You can do that for yourself by reading it here. For now, I'm just going to cover two of the major misconceptions about the act that are being trumpeted by Jones, World Net Daily, Michael Savage, Lew Rockwell, Red White & Green, and many others:

  • GIVE would institute mandatory volunteerism. I found nothing in the act that would have required anyone to volunteer. It basically increases funding and other resources for service orgs, and creates incentives for volunteerism (particularly among minorities, at-risk youth, students, seniors, and veterans). But in H.R. 1388 there was a provision that suggested examining "whether a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people could be developed, and how such a requirement could be implemented in a manner that would strengthen the social fabric of the Nation..." Frankly, I don't see any way this could be workable. But it's a totally moot point: When the Senate passed the act, the mandatory service provision was removed. Jones didn't know this when he began his tantrum.
  • GIVE would outlaw protests. No. And the people who are disseminating this bit of misinfo never seem to reference the relevant part of the act correctly. They've called it "Article 12", "Ammendment 40", and several other things, but it's actually Section 1304: "Prohibited Activities and Ineligible Organizations", an ammended version of Section 125. Though the wording is a little muddy, it's clear (to me, at least) that this section deals with activities that you would not be allowed to engage in while actively representing a service org, if that org is to remain eligible for funding. It DOES NOT make the activities illegal, and it DOES NOT prohibit anyone from engaging in them during their own free time, when they're not "on the job". You will NOT be barred from attending church for the duration of your time as a volunteer, as some people have claimed; that's ludicrous. Of course you can attend church. But can you try to pass off church activity as volunteerism in order to obtain government funding? No, you cannot. Can you organize a pride parade and pretend it's charity work so you can reap the benefits? No, you cannot. That's about all that Sections 125/1304 are trying to say.

Ich bin ein paranoid.

Believe it or not, the strangest part of Tuesday's broadcast had nothing to do with GIVE. It came when Jones got pissed off with his father for refusing to go on air and corroborate his theory that Obama is the AntiChrist. Seriously. "Yeah, fine, whatever," he snapped when his producer said the senior Jones declined to go on air.

The elder Jones, an orthopedic surgeon, recently pointed out to Jones that Obama gave his Berlin speech from the Pergamon [Altar] steps , and showed him a passage in the Book of Revelations that prophesies the AntiChrist will give his speeches from the Pergamon steps. It's all explained in the Wikipedia entry.

Other weirdness from recent broadcasts:

- March 20th

  • Jones broke the MIAC report story. Rush Limbaugh et. al. got it from him and didn't give him credit.
  • Jones has said numerous times that he's the leader of the 9/11 Truth movement, a statement many Truthers find false and offensive. But on his March 20th broadcast, he excoriated listeners for refusing to believe he founded the Truth movement. Wow.
  • The Pope works for the Rothschilds and Rockefellers.

- March 24th

  • Gardens are being outlawed.
  • Cold Spring Harbor scientists have admitted to drawing blood from all babies at birth and using it to develop race-specific bioweapons. I already know that Jones' idea of "admitted" and mine can differ dramatically.
  • "You're looking at the next Adolf Hitler [Obama]."
  • "They're building death camps."
  • "This [the GIVE Act] doesn't have to happen. If people got off their big, fat asses..." (Pot, meet kettle.)
  • "AAAAAAAAAGGGHHHHHH!"
  • Announces the release of another Obama film on July 4th. Keep in mind that he didn't make any full-length documentaries about Bush. Urges people to buy the high-quality version of The Obama Deception. Talks about it length later in the broadcast, ticking off the number of views it has had on various video sharing sites, and again almost begs people to buy it.
  • They're trying to ban documentaries that are critical of the current administration. As usual, the real story is far more complex.

Now that we've covered the Hitler/AntiChrist/Stasi bulls**, let's look at some real reasons why GIVE might not be a good idea:

1. Can the States really afford this right now? Didn't Obama say he wants to see the deficit decrease?

2. Who gets to decide which service orgs are ineligible?

Can't think of anything else at the moment. I heartily support volunteerism, and I hope that increased opportunities for service offered by GIVE will help create stronger social networks, healthier communities, and more civic-minded citizens.

McWhat?

The Southern Poverty Law Center has a very interesting mini-bio on Jack McLamb (and other Patriot conspiranoids), who was a guest on Jones's show earlier this month.

The interview with McLamb (available on YouTube) is disturbing for several reasons, most notably for McLamb's and Jones's continuous use of the phrase "on our side". Remember, these are the folks who rage against the New World Order's "divide and conquer" strategies and New World Order brainwashing. The message seems to be something like, "If you believe everything we say, then you're not brainwashed anymore!"

I'll be tackling the anti-vaccine hysteria of Rebecca Carley and others at a later date, probably on Swallowing the Camel. For now, there are just a few questions I'd like to ask anti-vaccine activists:

Do you have polio?
Do you know anyone under the age of 70 who has polio or post-polio syndrome?
Have you ever had the measles?
Mumps?
Scarlet fever?
Do you even know anything about scarlet fever? Do you personally know anyone who's ever had it?

Then shut the hell up.
